Cambodia is a developing
country in Southeast Asia with a land area of 181,035 sq
km. In 2002, the total population was 12,775,324 with a
growth rate of 2,24%. 84% of the population live in rural
areas and 16% in towns and cities. (Encarta Encyclopedia,
2003)
Those in rural areas are heavily dependent
on family agricultural activities and on natural resources,
whilst urban areas are centres for trade and commerce. GDP
per capita is US$260. |
